   OOCL said it will introduce a service connecting Asia, the East Mediterranean, and Black Sea next month, using Zim's EMX service.


   The first call will be provided by ZIM Shekou which is scheduled to arrive on Sept. 6 at Pusan and will have the following port rotation is Pusan, Ningbo, Shanghai, Da Chan Bay, Port Kelang, via Suez Canal, Haifa, Istanbul, Odessa, Novorossiysk, Istanbul, Haifa, via Suez Canal, Nhava Sheva, Port Kelang, Da Chan Bay, and Pusan.

Diana Containerships to buy two 6,500-TEUers bound for CSAV charters

DIANA Containerships, a company that owns and operates ships, has signed, via two subsidiaries, an agreement to buy two 6,500-TEU vessels.

The 2006-built Puelo and Pucon were bought for US$47 million each. The sellers are expected to deliver the Puelo by the end of August and the Pucon in mid-September.

Pacific International Lines has revised the port rotation for its China Transpacific Service, which connects the U.S. West Coast, Oceania and Asia.

The new CTP rotation will be: Long Beach, Calif.; Brisbane, Australia; Sydney; Melbourne, Australia; Tauranga, New Zealand; Brisbane; Manila, the Philippines; Keelung, Taiwan; Ningbo, China; Shanghai; and back to Long Beach.

Hapag-Lloyd shifts 3 loops from Hutch-owned Thamesport to Southampton

HAPAG-LLOYD announced it will switch three of its transatlantic services from Thamesport toSouthampton in another blow to the Hutchison Whampoa-owned port.

The German container carrier, the world's six largest, said the move was made "to further improve schedule reliability and offer the best possible service".

JAPAN's biggest ocean carrier, MOL, has announced a US$500 per TEU and a $1,000 per FEU rate increase on all cargo moving from Asia to the east coast of South America from September 1.

Maersk Line Revises South Atlantic Express Service

Maersk Line has revised its South Atlantic Express service.

The container line has removed the Miami port call from the rotation, added a fourth vessel to the rotation and added direct coverage between northern Colombia, including Santa MartaBarranquilla and CartagenaCosta RicaGuatemala;Honduras; and the U.S.
