Airlines for America: Cargo Yield Dropped in June

 

 

Airlines for America reported yield in June for domestic cargo was $71.10 per revenue ton mile, dropping 9.9 percent year-over-year. Yield for international cargo was $34.40 per revenue ton mile, sliding 8.1 percent.

Domestic cargo yield year-to-date was $75.00 per revenue ton mile, increasing 2.7 percent compared to the same period in 2012, although international cargo yield dropped 4.0 percent to $36.20 per revenue ton mile.

Cargolux flies to Santiago again

 

 

Santiago will be added to Cargolux’s regular South American rotation on Sundays, also stopping inViracoposBrazilSantiago has been in Cargolux’s network in the past, and the airline has maintained its cooperation with local GSA Pacific Feeder Services.

Following the re-emerging demand for large capacity freighters to and from Chile, Cargolux decided to add the Chilean capital to its network again.

China Southern begins Guangzhou-Frankfurt freighter service

 

 

China Southern Airlines launched its third scheduled freighter service from Guangzhou to Europe.

The new service to Frankfurt operates three times a week using a Boeing 777-200F. Flights depart every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Asia-Pacific Air Cargo Demand Declined in June

 

 

The Association of Asia Pacific Airlines's preliminary traffic figures for June showed air cargo demand continued to be weak.

Asia-Pacific international air cargo demand, measured in freight metric ton kilometers, recorded a 2.2 percent decrease compared to June 2012, reflecting continued weakness in key export markets. Offered freight capacity increased slightly, inching up 0.3 percent, leading to a 1.7 percentage point decline in the average international air cargo load factor to 66.2 percent.

Maersk’s Triple E Vessel Makes Maiden Call in China

 

 

Yantian International Container Terminals in Chinahas welcomed the inaugural call of the 18,000 20-foot-equivalent-unit Maersk Mc-Kinney Møller, a Triple E vessel.

The Maersk Mc-Kinney Møller handled 1,682 containers during its maiden voyage. The ships is 400 meters (about 1,312 feet) long and 194 feet wide, and has been deployed in Maersk’s Asia-Europe service.
