Toll increases for ships transiting the
Container ships got off relatively easy, with increases of about 2 percent, Middle East Monitor reports. Oil tankers and other bulk vessels incurred the greatest hikes, at around 5 percent.
In the first quarter of 2013, 1,479 container ships passed through the canal, down 6.7 percent from 1,585 in the same quarter a year ago.
